Well, summer is over and we’re back in action. Tomorrow night is the first annual event of the school year – Family Fun Night!
Come along for free games and activities, including a bouncy castle, go karts and shuffleboard. To fill hungry after school/work tummies, there’ll be a BBQ, plus alcoholic and soft drinks. Get the kids to raid their money boxes for the Sweet Sale 😀 And on top of that there’s a free raffle to win a Leeds Castle day pass.
We’ll also be holding the PTFA AGM so you can find out all about our fundraising success, what we’ve been funding and our target projects for the future.
We always need more hands to help, so if you can, let us know. All family members welcome – hope to see lots of you there!
Date: Friday 23rd September
Time: 5pm – 7pm
Well, the Christmas fair was a success, don’t you think? We raised an amazing £1550! Thanks to YOU GUYS! We hope you enjoyed yourselves. What were your highlights? In my house, Father Christmas’s present was a big hit, as well as the pen won on Pick A Card.
We had loads of wonderful cake donations (thanks!), and almost everything on the tombolas were donated (I hope you won, I’m the unluckiest person on tombolas/raffles!)
Anyway, we’d love to know what you liked/what we could do even better next year!
I failed to take any photos again 😐 I WILL try harder at the next event!
Oh, and, what did you think of the Christmas Crafts hanging in the corridor? We were very impressed with the children’s hard work and we think it looks really festive. If you missed them, have a peer in, or look up when you’re in for the upcoming nativities.
See you in the New Year!
Bored of washing the children’s uniform every day? Well, guess what? It’s TAG Day on Friday. Yay! In return for saving your machine for one day, please can you donate either £1 or any bottles you’ve got lying around – wine, squash, lemonade, beer, bubble bath, water, shampoo. You get the picture.
We’ll be holding another one in November…. 😉
Keep an eye on the book bags for information of our first after school Christmas Craft sessions that we are holding in November. Also, the Christmas Fair Raffle Tickets *should* be with you before half term.
Got a free hour/morning/afternoon/day in half term? How about getting festive with the kids and designing your own Christmas Cards for Cauliflower Cards? Deadline for this is FRIDAY 6 NOVEMBER. If you need another application thingy, get in touch.
Well, it’s October already. We had planned a Family Fun Night in September but the weather was atrocious so it had to be cancelled – sorry about that. It will be back next September, bigger and better!
We thought you’d like to know what we have coming up over the next two terms….:
Firstly, there is the Disco – I’m sure the children will be keen to attend (and you get a few hours to yourself, hooray!). This will be on 11 November and will be open to children in years One to Six (Robins to Falcons). There will be a wonderful array of glow products once again – they look even better at this Disco, what with it being so dark outside.
We have another evening planned in November, hopefully. Details of this will be published as soon as we have confirmation….
Then, of course, it’s CHRISTMAS! I know we’re all very excited (ahem). The fair will be held on Friday 4 December straight after school. As always, we need helpers! If you can spare an hour or two during the day to help us set up, we would really appreciate it. We also love (good!) donations – we will of course hold two TAG Days for you to donate bottles and prizes for the tombola, but if you have anything else, or your company would like to donate to the raffle we would be so chuffed.
Father Christmas has been in touch to say his elves have been working extra hard on the presents this year, so, when the time comes, book your (kids) slot to see him.
Right. Anything I’ve missed? Probably. If you need us, please comment below, speak to the office or find one of us. We’re quite nice.
So, Wednesday saw the return of the Summer Disco – with brand new novelties (were these popular with your kids?). We made a healthy £364.50 to add to the PTFA pot, so once again, thank you for supporting us! We hope the kids had a great night! They were generally bouncing off the walls, so we guess they must have had a good time. It was great to have the use of the Courtyard – a bit of extra space, and space to cool down 😉
Once again, the PTFA forgot to take photos of the novelties and disco set up (whoops!), we will do better…
And on to the next thing…. The Sweet Sale – WEDNESDAY 22 JULY. Get the kids to raid their penny boxes. See you then!
We need to get some photos on here, to give it some character and colour. Have you got any of the recent Summer Fair, or previous events that you’d like to share? The PTFA crew failed on this task (we were far too busy setting up for a great day 😉). We’ll do better next time… In the meantime, comment if you have. Ta!
So, what’s next? Well, Wednesday 15 July 5-7pm is the Summer Disco (open to pupils from years 1-6). We have a new range of novelties, starting from 30p 🙂
There will be a Sweet and Ice Cream Sale on Wednesday 22 July in the Playground- bring your pennies for an (almost!) end of year treat!
A date for your diary in the new school year – FAMILY FUN NIGHT! Friday 18 September 5-7pm. All welcome. Free Bouncy Castles, Go Karts, games to play. There will be a BBQ, Sweet Sale, Nearly New School Uniform Sale (any donations to this gratefully received).
